Back home
I'm back! For better or for worse, I'm home again.
It's been a great couple of weeks. The first one was spent around Italy and the second one in Germany and Latvia. On the way back I spent a day in England.
In Italy, we were in a different city every day (except for three days in Rome), and I still have to concentrate to remember what happened where. It's incredible the amount of stairs there are in Italy and I think we went up most of them. The sights from the top were worth it though!
In Berlin, we finally went up to the Reichstag dome since there wasn't much queue. On one of the interior gardens you can see "der Bevölkerung" but we couldn't find what came before it. For those of you who don't know why there should be something before, it's in genitive, which would be the equivalent of "of the population" which doesn't make sense on its own".
Riga was quite cold and dirty. There are some beautiful buildings but most are very deteriorated by the contamination from the cars. In the market we saw socks and hats made out of dog wool and flower stands with light-bulbs on in the middle of the day. In every building you entered, it was quite warm. I dare not think about the energy waste there is in those countries.
